{miranda's prom dress}

This is my 16 year old daughter, Miranda.  I realized recently that I never posted this dress I made for her.
Miranda is a very creative and talented artist.  She drew out the dress she wanted for prom. I found a pattern that was the closest to what she wanted and made a few alterations to the pattern.
Have I told you before how I loathe store bought patterns for clothes?  I don't know what the deal is, but they NEVER fit the size that you actually are.  Miranda is a size 3 and I had to cut this dress out at a 12 I think.  WAY OFF!!!! They really need to update the pattern sizing to match the sizes in the stores.
I used this pattern above for the main dress. I then cut the neckline into a V, and created an uneven pleated dickie, to create the look Miranda wanted.
I used this pattern (above) for the sleeves and altered those as well.  I made them wider to make them more modest.
Isn't she beautiful?

{mint bridesmaids skirts}

This beautiful bride, Elizabeth is my cousin's daughter.  She got married Aug. 8th and I had the privilege of sewing the bridesmaids skirts.
I made the first 5 skirts and sent them off to Elizabeth and then realized that I never took photos of them.  Agh! What was I thinking?  I had one last skirt to finish and then take photos of.
Elizabeth just sent me some photos of the girls wearing the skirts at the wedding reception.
I took my camera to the reception hoping to get some good photos and didn't realize until I got there that there was no memory card in my camera.  Oh my gosh... really? SO these (above) are a few shots from my phone.

{a revised anna doll}

I made some more revisions to my Anna doll. I trimmed her bangs a little differently.
Added sequins to the bottom of her dress to add some sparkle to it.  This was a customers request and I think I like it!
Her cloak is now made with a sparkly fuschia fabric with a fun purple trim, just like the one in the movie.

{ryden's silly snake}

Ryden saw me stitching up another snake a few months ago and hasn't stopped asking his mom for one, so she finally ordered one for him.
This is not Ryden, this is Tanner, a little boy we were watch once in awhile. He just happened to be here when I finished the snake so he posed with him for me.
Ryden was so excited when I gave him the snake.  He couldn't believe it was for him.  His mom sent me a photo later of him sleeping with his snake that night.  How sweet is that?

{cuffed pillowcase tutorial}

Front: 20" x 23" (solid pink)
Wide Cuff: 20" x 13" (Green polka dot)
Narrow Cuff: 20" x 2-1/2" (Orange Flower/Paisley)
Back: 20" x 35-1/2" (Orange Flower/Paisley)
Please ignore my silly mistake. I accidentally cut my cuff piece 13x13 instead of 20x13, so instead of just buying another piece of fabric I sewed them back together.
sorry about the part that is hard to read.  It says, "If you have a serge-stitch on your machine use that to edge-stitch the cuff and front pieces. If you don't have a serge-stitch you can use a zig-zag stitch.
 Slide your pillow inside and
tuck under the inside flap.
It's been over 3 years since I wrote out a tutorial, so I'm pretty rusty. I hope you can understand all the instructions. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer them.

{boots, boots and more boots, zipper pouch}

I bought this fabric awhile back and just love it.  I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it. After a new client ordered a pouch and wanted this fabric I thought... this is the perfect thing to make with this cute fabric.
Zipper pouches can be used for so many things... school supplies, sewing supplies, small toys, small necessities to carry in your purse, etc.
You can order your own custom zipper pouch over in my shop.
