Can you tell I just love this vintage rose fabric?  I like to repurpose fabric and make good use of something that seemed to no longer be useful.  Any guesses on what the brown fabric use to be?  Leave a comment and tell me what you think it use to be.

Here is another custom backpack I just finished today for a client (it's actually for her daughter).  I really wasn't sure about this color combination at first, but I really love how the coral & turquoise look together.

Leave a comment here & tell me what other color combos or print/solid or print/print combos do you think would look good with a backpack like this?  I have another backpack cut out & almost ready to sew, so come back soon to see the combo I came up with for that one.

As a little surprise I added a cell phone pocket that she's not expecting.  It could also double as a pencil/pen pocket.

I'm not sure why, but I am drawn to this combination of fabrics. I LOVE the vintage-y looking flowers with the olive polka dots. So pretty.   

My best friend tells me all the time that I am very good at putting fabrics together. I think this comes from all the years I spent scrapbooking and the 12 years I taught card-making & scrapbooking classes.

Leave a comment here and tell me what was the first thing you saw when you looked at this fabric?  What was the first thing that caught your eye? 

 When I saw this fun, crazy bird fabric I knew I had to get it.  I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with it at the time, but I thought it was so fun.  The really crazy thing is that when I first looked at it all I saw were the owls.  I guess my mind was playing tricks on me.  I love the silly owl with the bird sitting on his head!

{pencil pouches for my boys}

These pouches are for my boys.  My 11 year old needed a new pencil pouch for school and when I showed him the fabrics he could choose from, my 9 year old decided he needed a new one too, even though he had a perfectly good pencil box.
