{polka dot circle skirts}

I started making these circle skirts for a local vendor here in Gilbert almost a year ago.
I created the pattern and I've made probably about 20 skirts for him so far. I've done a few poodle skirts as well. You'll see some of those up on my blog soon.

{mint bridesmaids skirts}

This beautiful bride, Elizabeth is my cousin's daughter.  She got married Aug. 8th and I had the privilege of sewing the bridesmaids skirts.
I made the first 5 skirts and sent them off to Elizabeth and then realized that I never took photos of them.  Agh! What was I thinking?  I had one last skirt to finish and then take photos of.
Elizabeth just sent me some photos of the girls wearing the skirts at the wedding reception.
I took my camera to the reception hoping to get some good photos and didn't realize until I got there that there was no memory card in my camera.  Oh my gosh... really? SO these (above) are a few shots from my phone.

{Mindy's skirts}

I made these two skirts last week from a reversible dress.  This was a custom order for Mindy S.  I should have taken a before photo, but I forgot to.
Mindy wanted the dress split into two skirts and then she had me add some fabric to the bottom of one and the lace to the bottom of the other.

{first maxi skirt}

I've finally decided that it's time to start teaching my girls to sew.  Miranda (my 15 year old) is always wanting me to make things for her, so I decided it's time for her to learn to sew for herself.  So, she wanted to make a maxi skirt, so I measured it around her & cut it out and then showed her how to sew it and this is what she came up with.
.
I think she did a great job!  I told her to make sure to keep the stripes lined up down the seam and she did a very good job with that too.

Skirts with elastic make a great beginning project for anyone wanting to learn to sew.  And speaking of that, I am putting together a Beginning Sewing Class  for those that are here local, near Gilbert AZ.  I am going to attempt something a little new to me and  make tutorials for the simple projects that we will be making in this class.

lace skirt {for cammi}

I made this lace skirt for my 17 year old daughter's birthday this year. I used this tutorial! I really like how it turned out.  I used a lace that was about 4 inches wide.  This whole skirt only cost me about $5 to make!

{graduation skirt}

I really thought I had blogged this skirt before, but I guess I haven't.  I made this skirt for Korryne's graduation last May.  I used this tutorial here, but left out the buttons.  We both loved how it turned out!
